Calling all Artists!!! “The Art of Photography” The next show to be presented by the Currituck County Arts Council will be “The Art of Photography”. Previous exhibiters and new participants are encouraged to enter this juried show to be held at the Council’s Gallery located in the Moyock Branch Library. Photographs will be received and hung on Saturday, August 3, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. The show will open with a reception on Friday evening, August 9, 2013 at 7:00 pm and the show will run until November 2, 2013. This show will be judged by Mr. Jackson D’Armond, Marketing Manager of Stihl Corporation. Mr. D’Armond has an impressive background in professional photography. He will serve as featured artist at this show and will give a short presentation on photography as an art. Awards of $300, $200 and$100 will be presented. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF WORKS: Exhibitors must be members of the CCAC. Membership forms will be available at the gallery. Annual memberships are $20.00 for an individual or $30.00 for a family. The entry fee for works that are to be adjudicated is $25.00. This fee will cover up to a maximum of 5 photos of any size, but the number of photos allowed may ultimately be determined by the number of entries. Council members that choose to not have their works judged will not be charged the entry fee. All photos must be original work done by the submitting photographer. Submitted photos must not have won a previous award in any show and must not have been previously shown in this gallery. Photos must be marked on the back with your name, contact information, title of the work, sale price or NFS (not for sale) or POR (price on request). All photos must be framed and wired securely. No other hanging system can be accommodated except for a few small pieces that can be placed on easels in the enclosed glass display cases or on shelves that are not enclosed. Wires should be attached 1/3 of the way down on the frame with the top arch of the wire not more than 1 inch from the top of the frame so the frame will not angle out from the wall. Facsimile mats printed directly on the photo paper will not be acceptable.
