Calling all Italians in NEPA! UNICO Scranton Chapter and the Scranton Cultural Center are proud to present Michael DiLauros La Mia Strada at the Masonic Temple, a poignant documentary by five-time Emmy Award Winner and UNICO Scranton Chapter Member, Michael Angelo DiLauro. “La Mia Strada” (My Road), is a compelling exploration of ethnicity and culture, linking ancient and modern Italian life with its Italian-American counterpart. DiLauro uses the historic shepherd trails as both reality and metaphor for the transmission of culture and identity. Viewers are invited along a journey of discovery, examining the ways in which family and tradition strive to maintain a fragile bond across generations and continents, despite the demands of an ever-changing world. The screening and dinner will be held at the Scranton Cultural Center’s Shopland Hall (located on the fourth floor) on Thursday, October 16, 2014. A cash bar will open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m., and the Film and Panel Discussion will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.00 for the documentary, or $30.00 for both dinner and the presentation. Reservations are required by October 13. Please call the Fidelity Box Office at the Scranton Cultural Center at (570) 344-1111 for tickets, or (570) 313-7788 for more information.
