**Calling all Matilda Summer Schoolers** Firstly, is it REALLY that time of year AGAIN?! Second of all, HOW EXCITING IS THIS?! And third (of all) I need to let you all know what were expecting from you next Monday (11th August at 10.00am) If youve summer schooled with us before you know we run a tight ship. Monday is audition and casting day so we ask rather a lot from you. We have 5 days (4 if you discount audition Monday) to create a fantastic show which lives up to the reputation we have built up over the past few years. So...we would like you to do a bit of homework before you arrive. If you would like to be considered for a singing role we need to hear you sing on your own. So please could you prepare a song (preferably from Matilda, but if you really dont know any of the songs, we will let you off and you could sing something else). You will be singing a solo. You can either sing it a cappella or with a backing track but if you use a track please bring it on your own device and know exactly where it comes in etc. (we wont beat you up if you dont know where it comes in- it just makes our lives easier) We will be splitting you into small groups to complete an acting task. We will expect you to learn a short section of script during the rehearsal time. Finally Tia will be teaching you a short phrase of dance which we will ask you to perform back in small groups. It isnt designed to be scary, at all, its just something we have to do to ensure we choose the right people of the right roles and give as many people as possible the opportunities they deserve. So thats Monday. First thing Tuesday morning you will be given your scripts and your roles and we start making magic. Boom. Any questions, please ask on here or if its a REALLY dumb question then pm either me or James Bryant Moore. One FINAL thing- line learning is essential over summer school. If you dont think youre up to the challenge please let us know early on. At the end of the day we have 4 days...and there aint gonna be to no scripts on dat stage.
