Calling all systems administrators/managers/analysts (delete as appropriate :-) ) As some of you know, weve finally got the go ahead to put together a new MSc at Brookes on IT Systems Administration and Management and were looking at what should go in it. Weve already got lots of ideas of what should go in the programme but given that a lot of people on here do this as a living I thought Id ask folk what you think the skills required for this job are and what somebody going into this as a profession should absolutely know? Students on the course will have a computing and/or networking background (probably a 1st degree in this area), so you can presume they know the basics, but what else do you think they should they know? If you can list in the comments what skills/knowledge/abilities they should have in the comments or in a pm that would be great. Also, if you would be willing to have a look at the course outline when we do get it finalised can you let me know as well? (And a big thanks to those who have already agreed to help). TIA Faye
