Calling top practicing artists for to contribute a quality work for Auction - 50 % commission. Fri March 21 Arch Hill Residents assoc. is holding a fundraising art auction to contest the Bunnings mega store in the midst of Arch Hill. Bunnings have reportedly been granted consent by Council when they are short of some 200 carparks, will have some 40 trucks a day 7-11pm and will light up the Gt Nth Rd ridgeline all night with a building the approx. size of the Aston Apartments on the other corner of Gt Nth Rd and Bond St. Huge implications setting a precedent for the same to happen in other Auckland communities in mixed-use zoning. Right next to heritage homes, pre-schools etc. Not to be snooty but some top name artists involved so not exactly for your kids or favourite aunts or pals finger painting thanks all the same :-) May be limited places so send me a private message if you are keen or can recommend someone. Sir James Wallace is also being invited and reputedly will be keen to attend. Also if you are interested in buying - list of contributing artists already include Jane Zusters, Fatu Feuu, John Pule, Matthew Browne, James Robinson, Russell Shaw, Brett aCourt, Gretchen Albrecht, James Ross etc with some more big names in the pipeline. So mixing emerging exhibiting artists with established practices together with higher profile stalwarts and stars. cheers
