Came home from a Tullamore show weekend In McPherson, KS, to my dad watching his recording of the Woodstock movie. Joan Baez came on soon after, and I remembered watching this performance as a 10- or 11-year-old, and it gave me goosebumps, now and back then. Here I was, this geeky, awkward, tough little tomboy kid, watching this beautiful woman with a beautiful voice (who kind of looked like me!) singing this song alone in the world to over 500,000 people in the live audience, and I decided thats who I wanted to be--a woman who inspires people and uplifts them through music. (It may or may not also be why I tend to have too much vibrato when I sing! LOL!)
