Campaign Update: To my countless friends and supporters who are contacting me and angry that some of our local State Legislators and Elected officials who profess their “Conservative” values have endorsed my tax-n-spend Primary Opponent, and also angry at the St. Pete Trib for endorsing my opponent over the 2011 Fluoride issue… Please keep in mind that the establishment status quo will always endorse the establishment status quo over the person who exposes their hypocrisy, understands and embraces representative government, and wasn’t invited to join their “club”. As for the Trib: I’ve noted before that there are several folks out there – particularly the editorial ideologues, political opportunists, and establishment strategists – who want desperately to re-inject the Fluoride issue into this year’s cycle. They believe that the year-long electioneering of the issue in 2012 was to some degree successful in ousting two conservatives from our County Commission. Now they desperately hope to use it again to remove the lone remaining conservative from our County Commission in an effort to fully convert our Commission into a full-blown hyper-progressive and extremely-liberal rubber stamp. Many of them long for the days of old when 7 Commissioner simply nodded their heads in unison and watched millions and millions of our tax dollars fly out the door with no questions asked. If that is your desire also; do not vote for me, you have a status quo option in this Primary. But if you, like many, do not want to return to the status quo days; want a Commissioner who does his homework, tells you the truth, stands on his principles and convictions, works for our citizens, applies a trust but verify approach, and demands accountability for our tax dollar investment…then I remain the right choice in this election. I’d be honored and privileged to continue doing the job for a second term if you’ll have me, and by His will and your vote I shall. Please reject the political and editorial rhetoric and do your own homework on this important election. vote4norm
