Cam’i Alaskan Native Family and Friends, Quyanaa to all who attended our annual picnic, to all who reached out and gave a helping hand and to those who donated a raffle item or brought foods to share. What a great time we had, what a great day and what great people to spend it with. QUYANAA, thank you, you are all a great blessing! For those who were not able to attend check out the photos soon to be posted on our Fb: Alaska Native Brotherhood Columbia River Camp 49. We had lots of delicious foods, drumming, dancing and a raffle which ran all day (so it seemed). Crystal Chulik and Matt Ruff won the microwave and a fabulous Portland Elder won our cedar hat, let’s get that lady a button-pin for her hat! Now is the season to become or renew your membership, $12 a person and $1 per child. With membership comes many perks! As members you are invited and encouraged to regularly attend our monthly meetings, vote, run for office, eligible to attend Grand Camp in Alaska and have your voice heard at both at our local camp and in Alaska. We encourage all to join our family and become members. The funds from our membership fees are split, 50% are applied to Grand Camp and 50% stays within our local camp, which are usually used to help fund our delegates’ travel expenses to Grand Camp. Membership dues must be turned in by September 30th! You are welcome to join even if you are limited on time but still want to support ANB. We are holding a meeting on the 28th and will be available to collect dues and new membership applications at that time. We will meet at 1pm, in NARA on 1776 SW Madison Ave, Portland. As always we will be having a potluck and raffle!!! See you soon, Colette Buchanan Camp 49 President (541) 514-5717
