Can America be governed again? It takes the presidency, 61 votes in the Senate and a substantial majority in the House. This has seldom happened in our history. We made it work in the past as our Founders intended, but not since the Tea Party arose. We used to have leaders who made alliances across the aisle. We celebrated them and their achievements. Now those who do so lose in primaries and are vilified. If this is to be a zero sum war we must end the filibuster in the Senate and let the people rule by majority vote. The tyranny of the Minority must stop. This blackmail against democracy must end. The Tea Party has blackmailed the Republicans far too long and, in turn, the combination of Republicans and Tea Party folk have held America hostage far too long. We need majority rule once again. End the filibuster rule in the Senate. When a party fails to lead properly, let the people vote them out. Since Obama was elected he was prevented by the filibuster to lead. Yet Democrats won overwhelmingly in 20O8 and 2012 at every level. Time to end State authority to gerrymander Federal Congressional districts in contravention of the Constitution. All districts should be designed by an independent authority without influence from the parties or a States. When this happens, the people will rule again as our Founders intended.
