Gear list for Mount Washington trip, Memorial Day weekend trip May 23-26, 2014 Mount Washington is the HIGHEST PEAK in the Northeast, notoriously known for erratic weather condition and rugged terrain. Therefore, PLEASE DO NOT BE CLUELESS coming on this hike, if you dont know what you are getting yourself into, please do your own research. This is NOT a beginners hike, and MUST be able to keep up, theres NO sweep! For those coming to this trip please start preparing your gear. (See below for details) Suggestion, backcountry is having sale on Marmot Gore-tex, (this is like the Mercedez Benz) out of all the jacket. Its pricey but great investment, if you have this, you only need this. Well the good news is, this Marmot Jacket Gore Tex is on sale, its $165.00, normally it cost $400. This jacket is windproof and can withstand heavy duty rain, our goal is too stay dry and warm, this a light weight jacket, not bulky which is a plus and great for multi weather conditions and other activities: i.e hiking, running, etc. For this trip, you definitely need heavy duty gear and jacket, especially heavy duty waterproof hiking boots. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and things to prepare. As for physical fitness, this hike is a NO JOKE hike, stamina, endurance is key and mental grit. The high elevation is the least of your worries, hiking in rugged terrain in an unpredictable weather condition is what you need to prepare for.
