Can I ask a very simple question. From what I can make out - TopicsExpress

Can I ask a very simple question. From what I can make out there is no canonised doctrine that says that we as LDS actually believe that God was once a man. We merely refers to it as a possibility. There are a number things that make me think of this. We believe in a God from one Eternity to another - one Eternal God. We also believe that that God was once a greater intelligence and therefore was never a man as in human form ( living on an Earth like ours) but was always a man (gender) though a greater intelligence without beginning or end of days. There are things we read that are merely assumptions. Please can anyone shed light on this. As although I know the idea and statement that God once was a man - I dont think it is doctrine - am I wrong entirely?
