Can I be honest... Titles have always intimidated me. You see - TopicsExpress

Can I be honest... Titles have always intimidated me. You see titles everywhere. You see people who hold major titles at work, at church, at school... But even though some play a higher role in life, there are a few things we must keep in mind. We are all human. We are made in Gods image. And we all serve a purpose in life. When I worked at the radio station years ago, I got to meet some famous people. In the small 4x6 studio setting, I saw how, in fact, they are human just like us. Maybe a few more people are familiar with them, and they make more on one song than I will make in a lifetime. But human. God has continued to put intimidating people with current or past titles in my life. People who hold much more significant titles and roles than Im sure I will ever have. People who, in their day, were more famous than I will ever be. But at the end of the day... Still Human. Just like you and me. Paul wrote about the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12. And he used the analogy of a body to compare the parts or roles of each person. We have all been gifted with something. And as I said the other day, each role is important. Yes, some may be more in the spotlight than others, but when we are the hands and feet of Jesus, every part is just as important to the success of the Kingdom work! I love how the analogy was balanced in the book of Philippians. Philippians 2:3-4 Dont be selfish; dont try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Dont look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You see. At the end of the day, its all about others. Its about serving other people with what God has blessed us with. If you have a greater exposure, or influence, use that for God. If you are like me, and just another person on the street, use that for God. Dont let the intimidation of someone elses role hold you back. Dont let the lie that your role isnt important hold you back. Jesus died for everyone. He loves each one of us. And we are an important part of His greater plan, no matter the role we have been blessed with!
