Can I please urge everyone who can possibly be there to attend The Eagles Function Centre on Monday night (19th) Oval Ave Woodville North comencing at 7 p.m. The Cheltenham Park Residents Association needs our help. This was advertised as a public meeting and Shonica and I spent a lot of time working on a presentation. We have now been told that it will basically be a forum. The industry are paying for this forum and we were not informed that there will be no speakers until today! To me a public meeting is where you have speakers and people can ask questions. We have all the proof of the harm that these machines cause and the industry only has their usual spiel. Seems to me like they want to silence us. We need your voice! We as reformed gamblers know the devastating reality that these destructive machines cause and the CPRA wants to keep them out of their community. There are a number of schools in the area and in one instance students will have to walk past this proposed venue every day before and after school. Dont let the gambling industry silence us. Please be there if you can.
