Can I share my best discovery with you? I started developing - TopicsExpress

Can I share my best discovery with you? I started developing breasts at a pretty young age, and as a result, I felt I was different and slowly started slouching to hide them. As the years went on, their size kept my posture improper (I was always too petite for those Cs).. Even after the breasts melted down from Cs (my body went through a different change a few years ago), I couldnt completely correct my posture. Not even my PTs exercises helped in correcting it. Well.. Until now. So heres the thing. Your skeleton holds up your body, your muscles make it move. However, when youre sleeping you need to allow the muscles to completely relax and the spine to be supported. That doesnt mean the bed. Your bed is your bodys worst enemy.. Thats coming from someone who has an enormous king-sized bed & loves soft and fluffy mattresses. Well I did until I realized why we are supposed to sleep on our backs, on very hard surfaces. When you sleep on the floor (I use my yoga mat and a bed sheet, no pillow either), youre allowing your muscles to relax and let your skeleton hold the body up. In a bed, or on any cushiony surface, your muscles are what continue working and holding up the skeleton, never allowing them the proper rest they need. Even if you cant give up the bed yet, start with laying on your back on hard surfaces. Start by stretching around, and getting used to how it feels for your muscles to truly relax and your spine to realign. So here I am- waking up from the floor, and every morning I see a huge difference in my posture.. Funny thing is that my dad has always told me to sleep on the floor because its more natural, and now I know what hes been trying to say. 31 and always learning new things about life, love and myself
