Hawaii is not very progressive or assertive about its recycling efforts. You can recycle glass and plastic bottles that have been marked in a special way and collect five cents each for those containers. But there is no scheduled pickup of recyclable materials and the County fulfills its responsibility to recycle with its depots to which you can take your recycled goods. I suspect that most people do not do that.
