Can We Seriously Win This War Against Ebola? With our country - TopicsExpress

Can We Seriously Win This War Against Ebola? With our country on its knees; total economic disaster, thousands of people dead, thousands of people hungry. No electricity or running water in nearly every part of the country. No jobs, no healthcare and no hope for many of our citizens. I struggle to see how the President is doing a good job..... Is this the best we can do? Do we not deserve better than this APC Government and its bloody EBOLA legacy??? Can we win this War against EBOLA? Yes! But not if we keep doing the same things over and over again. We keep losing if our government is more interested in protecting its image than telling us the truth. We keep losing when those paid/elected to do their jobs prefer to blame us than take responsibility. We will start winning this War from the moment our Government speaks with honesty about: The scale of the task at hand How long our misery is likely to last Where is our National Strategy? Where is our Crisis Management Team? How effective is current tracing, monitoring and surveillance? How many qualified healthcare experts do we have on the ground? How many do we need? What is our governments message to the world? The anger has gone, the frustration stifled and what remains is the weary resignation.....After all, the Gods are not to blame. It is my fault, and yours......perhaps we didnt do enough. Perhaps we ought to be nicer to our leaders; praise them a bit more. Give them more awards and trophies. Who knows, it might just be the incentive they need to learn the art of competence. ..... STATE HOUSE HAS NOW BECOME THE OFFICIAL RESIDENCE OF INCOMPETENCE IN SIERRA LEONE UNDER PRESIDENT KOROMA. GOD HELP US OH!!!! We will pay a heavy price for our sycophancy; our refusal to hold our government accountable. And the chronic lack of discipline and professionalism in our society. We are not in this mess because we dont pray hard or because we dont help our kith and kin, but because we have lost sight of our VALUES. ......No amount of artificial unity and prayers will change that. Only an end to sycophancy and the courage to speak the truth can save us!! Sadly, many Sierra Leoneans frustrated with their governments blatant disregard in ending this Ebola crisis are now asking President Koroma: When will Ernest Koroma stop and realise that not all political appointments have to be within his close quarters? He appointed a Minister of Health that publicly disgraced the nation at the beginning of this Ebola epidemic by saying that a nurse died because she had an affair with a patient. I wish she was medically inclined or had taken time to read about the disease before putting herself to shame. Now a new Ebola body is formed and guess who is heading it - a Defence stalwart Paolo. I hope he will be in a position to vet and analyse medical results he is given and answer questions about the disease from the medical experts that the international world is sending to Sierra Leone. Rather than to be the Pas eyes in seeing that the moneys donated go to the right APC accounts. I wonder how serious the world will see the country in its fight for eradication of the disease when Paolos CV will be seen by them. I will suggest to the president to at least nominate one of his many hungry medically inclined stooges that might have a clue of what is happening rather than a bodyguard.
