Is it possible that when I criticize child abuse in christianity that I dont reflexively want to exterminate, bomb, exile, torture and otherwise mutilate christians...or anyone for that matter? Can that be considered relevant? Apparently not. I mean, my contempt for Libertarians (hopefully well known) does not demand that I disavow and attack anti-militarism and other views espoused by some Libertarians and Libertarians themselves. Take religion - if I criticize religion and Stalin and some skin head in the streets of insert-country-here criticized religion...well, you do the cogitating. Except...for some reason if I criticize a religion and religious behavior on the approved REAL Lefty check list, thats okay. Crazy Christian child abuse? My politics and my opinions are not subjugated collective approval, popular vote, or the moral rationality of guilt by association. Those of you that know me are displaying an odd exercise in judgment if you think that in light of the totality of my freely expressed views on a multitude of things religious, political and otherwise, my views align with Nazis, fascists and the like. You are certainly free to believe that but I consider it a serious insult, particularly when coming from someone that knows me. I still submit that the root of this weed of confusion is communication. Sober disassembly of an argument is not mob friendly. I will spare you the apologetics I have been hammering on my keyboard for weeks now as it has proven useless through its real wold results. I am someone that finds religion to be an obstacle to human advancement. I criticize ALL religions by virtue of their shared devaluation of rationality, social advancement, and other oppressive characteristics. You may not agree but that does not by default align my views with Stalin and Fascists etc. If you are looking to change my views on religion, trying to assassinate, degrade or impugn my character isnt going to work, sorry.
