Can anyone explain to me how gas prices work???? When I drove a Turbo-Charged Bug...it used premium gas. Two years ago, premium was always 20 cents more than regular. Now....my Juke uses premium....and for some reason, (unrelated to me buying a Nissan, obviously)...the price of premium has been creeping up. 30-cents more about a year ago....then 40-cents more....and now....50-cents more than regular unleaded here in Chicagoland. BUT....I filled up at a Speedway in Merrilville, IN yesterday......and premium was 30-cents higher than regular. So how can that be???????? What gives with the price of premium gasoline? Sounds like a blatant gouge job to me and I wonder how/why theyre getting away with it......other than oil company lobbyists greasing the palms of regulators. (Yes, aware of the pun.) Answers and/or opinions welcome!
