Can someone help. I have a friend who is on Social Assistance because she was hit by a truck and had to go through spinal surgery. The accident happened in Alberta and she now has moved home to Sask. Because they are saying years to settle. She has no one to help her besides a few of us friends and to top off everything. Her daughter died in a house fire and she has inherited 4 grandchildren on top of the one that she was already raising. The kids are 3, 4, 4, 8 and 11. Boys are 3 and 11 and the rest are the girls. She is struggling so much. She only gets 800 per month for rent and cannot afford to move out of the 2 bedroom apartment that she is in. I have tried to help her find somewhere better to live but we cant seem to save enough for the 1st month, damage last month of a minimum of 1400 for most places. If I could get some help to cover off groceries and basics for her then that money could be used for trying to get a better place. I normally dont ask for help and always try to help others but this time I really, truly need to ask. These kids are so beautiful and my friend is trying so hard.
