Can someone please educate me on why the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a waste of water? The way I understand it, there is a process called The Water Cycle. Water in oceans, rivers, ponds and lakes is heated by the sun, which turns it into water vapor, (which is kind of like invisible water) and the vapor forms a cloud up in the sky. When a cloud gets so full of water that it cant hold anymore, it rains! The rain water travels back into our rivers and oceans, or it soaks down deep into the ground, creating more groundwater. There also seems to be some concern people are doing this just to be seen, as if they are a social media whore or lemming. But I wonder who out there posts on social media in hopes their thoughts, feelings, photos, or videos arent seen? The last thing that kind of baffles me are the people who compare the mortality rates between ALS and other world life threatening issues. Every life is worth something and if we can figure out how to alleviate any one of others suffering then as members of the human race, I would hope we could be all for it. There are benefits from the IBC besides the obvious ones, a good one I see that perhaps a lot of people arent is not only is it raising awareness for its intended cause but its also engaging people in dialog in how we handle all of these issues and spreading to other very worthwhile charities. Just my 2 cents as well as a few questions Id like to see answered. Thanks for reading. :)
