Can we Nigerians Ponder this over; (Our political messiah) Bihari I so much appreciate your write up titled “We need Buhari more than he needs us” in the Daily Sun of Friday December 19, 2014. Sometimes ago, I wrote a piece in the The Nation of Friday October, 24, 2014 titled ‘Buhari, the leader we need’ If Buhari can live that kind of modest lifestyle and is still passionate about Nigeria, I think, He is a blessing to this country because many of his contemporaries have given up on Nigeria. God knows why he keeps him alive and healthy at 72 years, when many of his contemporaries are no more, or not too hale and hearty like him. Recently, Dino Melaye, a former member of the House or Representatives, was so disturbed to hear that General Buhari could not afford 27 million naira APC nomination form, knowing well that all former Presidents and Heads of State get 23 million monthly since the period of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He decided to investigate the matter and later discovered that General Buhari personally wrote a letter to the minister of finance to pay him 10 percent of 23 million naira former Presidents and Heads of State do take as salary. So, he realized that General Buhari’s monthly payment iis 2.3 million naira instead of 23 million naira. What a Nigerian! Bob Marley of blessed memory once said that you can only deceive people sometimes but you cannot deceive all the people all the time. PDP has deceived Nigerians on personality of Buhari all these years. Finding fault in Buhari’s persona has long been the basis of political campaign strategy of PDP instead of addressing the issues of insecurity, corruption and economy. It seems we are gradually realizing our collective mistakes because the electoral map seems to be favouring Buhari this time around. Nigerians are ready to risk their votes on him. To me, Buhari is Nigeria’s Political Messiah.
