Can we just stop focusing on Hispanic communities, Black communities, Asian communities, any type of ethnic community versus white communities, versus this minority and that minority... Can we just stop focusing on our differences? Racism, sadly, will never end until we *collectively* stop accepting it, no matter who the victim is. It cant fade when were focusing on our differences and labeling each person into a group. Were coming into an era of an all mixed race of society (prominently in the United States), yet, even so, racism remains a major forefront issue in our communities and I think its because we unintentionally give it power by labeling ourselves and those around us. Ill probably ruffle a couple feathers with this but - #blacklivesmatter? How about #everylifematters. How about, if you do something wrong, no matter who its against, youre made accountable for it. How about we punish the cops with more than a slap in the wrist when they unnecessarily take a life, no matter the race, because they were hired (in theory) to project lives, no matter the race. Well have more numbers united to make a difference when we gather as human beings than we could ever hope to gather separated. I dont know, maybe Im being too simplistic or wishful.. I definitely understand that our system has loop holes and isnt fair and it is more than racist in many cases, but I think the day were able to stand together as a race of people and not think it privy to mention La Raza or look at me I stand with the black folks, but instead stand together intolerant of a label of any kind will be the day racism finally begins to die.
