Can we own anything? I think that ownership, at the core of it all, is such an unnecessary evil. We would live such beautiful lives if we didnt claim things or people. There would be no power struggle or conquest. We would not fear theft, because we would have a very definite knowing of the abundancy in this world. We would not endure thoughts of jealousy if we did not claim the company of others. I was thinking, however, with all of this in mind - Do we own our bodies? Surely, having ownership over our own physical bodies is a given? But how can own our bodies if ownership cannot truly exist? What irrefutable right do I have that deems my physical body to be unconditionally mine? Solely because I was born in it? But it is from the Earth, and as a being of the ether, how can I just conquer something in this physical world regardless if I was born into it? Do I own my mind? Is my SELF something I can say is truly mine? Without a greater understanding of the origins of my SELF, I cannot answer that question. What do you think?
