Can we please admit to ourselves that pumpkin pie is the fruitcake of Thanksgiving? No one actually enjoys that culinary abomination. Ive never made one because I dont like to waste my time cooking terrible things, but I am pretty sure the recipe calls for the strained contents of a litter box to be stuffed into an otherwise perfectly usable pie crust. So, how about we give thanks with something that doesnt make your mouth quite so sad to eat it? Old kitchen sponges crusted with soap scum would be a big step up, for example.
