Can we stop calling every military member, police officer and firefighter hero? I spent 21 years in the military. I am not a hero. Getting up and doing a tough job every day - even a job most people arent willing to do - doesnt make you a hero. A hero is that person who, when faced with a situation where they must risk their own life to possibly save another, takes that risk. Those situations are rare, even in the military and law enforcement, and the people who are willing to act in those situations are even more rare. Lets stop diminishing their extraordinary acts by attributing them to every person wearing a uniform.
