Can you believe it has been 40 days since Easter? We paused yesterday to remember the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, which recognizes the day Jesus ascended into Heaven after His Resurrection appearances. When Jesus was lifted up from this earth, He entrusted His followers to carry on His mission. SJPs identity as a ministry of the Church is tied directly to the responsibility Jesus gave to the disciples at His ascension...to teach, preach, reconcile, and heal. An interesting tidbit: Our parent organization is Ascension Health. Theres power in a name!
