You may also copy paste it to your FB account ARMM provides food packs to evacuees, Tawi-Tawi transports 500+ stranded passengers Zamboanga City (September 25, 2013) – The ARMM Crisis Management Committee (CMC) for BASULTA continue to map and provide support to home-base evacuees. DSWD-ARMM Zamboanga Satellite Office head Adelerma Ngo said these home-based evacuees are those who stayed at their relatives’ houses instead of proceeding evacuation centers. Home-based evacuees help decongest main evacuation centers and they have an added bonus of enjoying the care and moral support and counsel of their relatives. CMC head Assistant Secretary Juni Ilimin said, 436 households were provided food packs in Divisoria, Putik, Tetuan, Baliwan Grande and Veterans Avenue yesterday. Today ad additional 184 houeholds were supported in Talon-Talon and Pasonanca; for a totoal of 620 households with 2,480 dependents. Additionally, the ARMM Regional Ports Management Authority (RPMA) General Manager Hani Bud disclosed that one sea vessel is scheduled to depart tonight for Bongao. The trip is organized and paid for by the Provincial Government of Tawi-Tawi. Panglima Sugala Mayor Regie Sahali-Generale and Assemblyman Nurjay Sahali were on hand to assist stranded passengers needing to go home. As of press time, around 550 stranded passengers will be served. Mayor Sahali-Generale said priority is given to college students, pregnant and breast-feeding mothers, senior citizens, those just out of hospitals and government personnel stranded in the city while attending trainings and meetings.
