“Can your God heal me??” is the question my dad who is working - TopicsExpress

“Can your God heal me??” is the question my dad who is working as a scientist in ISRO was asked by his closest friend and colleague. After working for nearly 30 years in the organization, my Dad’s friend had gained fame and reputation. The deck was cleared for him to clinch the “Director” post. But out of the blue, a chronic nervous disease struck his body. His whole life was shaken. Devoid of hope, he started looking at the end of the road and had nearly written off his property. It was then, my dad stepped into his cabin and with bloodshot eyes his friend asked, “Can your God heal me?”. My dad who knew nothing about the seriousness of the disease and what his friend was going through, was taken aback. But, having gone through a severe life threatening situation himself a few years back and remembering his Lord Jesus brought him out of it, my dad said with faith that Jesus will surely heal him. How many times, in our workplace, schools and colleges do our friends see Jesus in us and ask us to pray for them. If we live ordinary lives in our marketplaces, then nobody is going to know about Jesus, let alone ask us for prayer. As the scripture rightly says, “The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few.”(Luke 10:2) “Jesus looked at the crowds and had compassion on them. For they were helpless and harassed, like sheep without shepherd” (Mat 9:36). The sheep are in the marketplace now. The need of the hour is for ambassadors/ workers for Christ to rise up in the marketplace. The need of the hour is Nehemiahs, Josephs, Esthers, Daniels to rise and build his kingdom in the marketplace. But for that to happen, we should be like these great men/women who were all men of prayer; who were blameless, diligent, prayerful, serving God faithfully. The aroma of the knowledge of God of Israel emanated from them so much that during the time of Daniel, King Darius wrote 26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.“For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end 27 He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”(Daniel 6:26,27) Therefore, let’s cry for revival within our hearts first. Let’s thirst and hunger for a greater filling of the Holy Spirit in us(John 7:37,38). Let’s build ourselves in our faith, by study of Word and praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20). Let’s get to “know” who our God is, so that we can make him known to the nations. Let His burdens become our burdens, his mission our commission, his ways our ways, his life our life. Let’s cry for revival church!! - Chaithanya
