Canada, Europe, Malawi,Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea,Venezuela and Australia have all put systems in place to protect their entertainment industries and studies have shown that the results of their legislative action has proven beneficial. Between 1989 and 1990, 26% of Australian releases charted and studies show that all the releases that have charted had received airplay or television milage which shows the link between airplay and sales as no releases had charted without airplay support. Through their initiative Canada has seen a rise in Local stars who have penetrated and at times dominated the American Market, an increase in airplay as mandated in Canada is allowing Canada and Canadians to enjoy the benefits or their Multi-Billion Dollar industry. CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHY OUR GOVERNMENT CANT SEE THE URGENCY IN PASSING THE NECESSARY LEGISLATION TO PROTECT WHAT IS OURS?
