Canadian Leo Major in 1944 captured 93 armed German soldiers by himself. In 1945, he single handedly liberated the city of Zwolle from German occupation, saving the 50,000 residents from the bloody battle that would have ensued had Major not been able to drive off the several hundred German soldiers by himself, shortly before the Canadian troops were supposed to attack. In the Korean war, Major led 19 other snipers to retake a hill swarming with thousands of Chinese soldiers. He and the 19 drove off the enemy troops, then held the hill against 14,000 Chinese soldiers for 3 days before help arrived. Details at the link below:
