Cancellation of Flood Evacuation Warning: The Bureau of Meteorology has revised the flood level in response to lower than forecast spills from Warragamba dam. As a result floodwaters will not reach moderate level. The NSW State Emergency Service has cancelled the Flood Evacuation Warning for the following areas: Low lying areas in Richmond Lowlands, Pitt Town and Gronos Point. The NSW SES advises that the following Precautions to be taken: Native wildlife (including snakes and spiders) may have taken refuge in sheds etc. Local roads may remain closed due to inundation and driving conditions may be dangerous. Motorists are advised not to attempt to cross causeways as floodwaters may be deeper and faster flowing than you realise and can contain hidden snags and debris. Don’t walk ride or drive through floodwaters – this is the main cause of death and injury during floods Further Information for Residents For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW SES on 132 500 In a life-threatening emergency call 000 (triple zero) Public information centre phone 1800 227 228 Road information, contact your local Council or the RMS 132 701 Rural animal & livestock assistance call 1800 814 647 You can find more information on the river condition from the Bureau of Meteorology website at bom.gov.au FloodSafe advice is available at ses.nsw.gov.au The NSW SES thanks the community for their co-operation and understanding in this event.
