Cancellation of yet another amateur league speedway meeting.Unfortunately a recurring scenario over the course of the season,I have already spent 40% of my fuel budget for this season travelling to seven call offs but have 25 meetings to fit in yet!Add the other expenses of being a stand alone club with no way of generating income and it has sadly reached the point where it is not worth doing.I am sure the money I am throwing at amateur league racing to give lads track time can be better spent by hiring a track and running a challenge match.Whatever the reason trying to run an amateur meeting same night as a professional meeting is just not working.The whole idea of being brought under the BSPA banner this season was to make these meetings official to ensure they take place,unfortunately the BSPA do not seem to have passed that message down the chain of command through their league co-ordinators right down to their clerks of the course.I have been given only one official explanation by a referee out of all my call offs this season.Presumably as they are official fixtures the referee has to put the reason on the meeting report,some should make interesting reading.
