Canmore family looking to rent-can you help? if so please read on and msg me, thanks. Hi Brad, Thank you for your time. We appreciate any help you can provide. My wife has created a letter of introduction, so I forward it to you. We currently live at the Fire Mountain Lodge in Canmore, but the owner want to be in the apartment during the December month. November 30th, at noon we have to leave the apartment. November 29th is my sons birthday, it looks like his birthday present is going to be, telling him that we have no where to live. We are a responsible and quiet family that are very respectful to other persons property So let me introduce our family. We are Arie, Katja, Tom and Jacob Van Velzen. Tom is our almost eight year old son. He is a sensitive, creative, enthusiastic, laid back young man with a wonderful sense of humor who is discovering the amazing world of Ipad-ding at the moment J. He suffers of asthma, and we moved to Canmore for his health My husband Arie is employed for almost five years with WEIR Canada Inc. as an IT project manager / senior bussiness analyst. WEIR Canada has branches throughout Canada and just added a new one in Vancouver and lately he has been travelling extensively from the GTA out West or made late hours because of the time difference. As we lived in Bolton, Ontario this meant he would be gone often. Because we are only with the three of us Tom missed his Dad a lot. Business increased and we got the opportunity to move. Now he mainly works from home and goes to the Calgary office once a week, still has to travel but these trips will be shorter. Anyway, another advantage of living here is the lack of ragweed as it turned out Tom is extremely allergic to it and had to be taken to the ER twice because of severe respiratory issues. Then there is Jacob, the dog. Jacob is a whole other story as we did not plan in becoming dog owners. Two years ago Jacob’s former owner needed to travel to Europe to get married and he got a puppy from Chiots Nordique Rescue Organization for his new wife to-be. This was two days before he left to marry her. We were asked to puppy-sit him as the owner would be back in 3-4 weeks. Tom was ecstatic as he loves animals, especially cats but is also severely allergic to them. So we agreed. As weeks passed we did not hear from him but he left us the number of the Rescue Organization and asked us to inform them so now and then on how Jacob was doing. Through them we learned that the owner’s new wife did not want to move to Canada and they would stay in Europe for the time being! In consultation with the Rescue Organization we reluctantly decided we would give it a try, they would back us up with advice etc., I myself had little dog training experience but Arie did. Anyway, we did puppy training, we provide enough exercise, good food and most importantly, a lot of love. He is never alone at home. We take him with us where ever we go. He has a wonderful character and turned out to be a great friendly dog of two. (In the pic he is playing with a boxer) We keep him exercised so he is relaxed and quiet at home. However he will bark when he wants to go out and barks more when he sees his leash. We are well aware of our responsibilities as dog owners and we are very happy that you will consider us as tenants as most properties which are for rent will only accept small dogs up to 15 in”. Anyway, let me introduce myself; my name is Katja, a 38 year former Key Account Coordinator/Personal Assistant for a top Manager of Siemens Turbomachinery B.V., in the Netherlands. When we moved to Canada and Tom was two I decided to stay at home to make the transition as easy as possible for the all of us. With my husband’s travelling and Tom’s school hours I have not seen a way to join the workforce yet, but perhaps soon I just might. I am a keen photographer and love visual arts; e.g. drawing, painting etc. As a matter of fact I am starting a training to be a certified photographer in December and I could not wish for a better surroundings than the Rockies! I will attach some pictures of our family to give you a face to go with the names. Best regards, Katja
