Canonical is more often criticised for its Contributor License Agreements (CLAs) by the larger Open Source community. Ironically Canonical is not the only company which requires CLAs, even communities like FSF or ASF require them. A controversy regarding Canonicals CLA has been doing the rounds for a couple of days, and now even the principal force behind the development of the Linux kernel, Linus Torvalds has entered the discussion.
