Notice Paul writes not if but “when the day of evil comes…” We can be sure there will be trials and tribulations in this life, especially if we are attempting to walk with Christ and live out the truth of the gospel. Our enemy will take notice and make an effort to limit our effectiveness as witnesses of the truth and to take away our peace. Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Jesus offers us comfort by His reassurance that He has gained victory for us who believe and we can find peace with Him.
