Cant apply for CPT or change OPT start date OPT/CPT Blast Resume to 2500+ employers via bit.ly/18niNwb Hello everyone, I have a doubt regarding my OPT start date. The last day of the fall semester at my university is Dec 6th and I have applied for my OPT couple of weeks back with a start date as Jan 3rd. But now, I have a full time job offer from a private organisation which is related to my course of study. They want me to start at the new position as soon as possible. So, I have few questions regarding this- 1) Can I change my OPT start to Dec 7th? If so, what is the procedure? As of now, I just received my OPT application receipt number from USCIS and it says initial review in the website. 2) Can I go to CPT this late in the semester and start my job immediately? If so, do I need to register for any additional course to get it approved? What are my options after my last day of the fall semester (Dec 6th) provided I am not able to get my OPT card with a start date of Dec 7th The International adviser at my university has told me that it is not possible either to go on to CPT or change my date on my OPT application.
