Cantonese Air Force pilots receiving training in Germany 1936. A total of 7 pilots trained with the Luftwaffe: 2 pursuit pilots, 2 recon pilots and 3 bomber pilots. My grandfather (陳瑞鈿) John Wong (Wong Sun-Shui) were the pursuit pilots in the group and spent six months learning advanced air to air combat tactics. They both passed their training courses early and spent the remainder of their time training in the Junker 21 and 52. When they returned to China, the Cantonese Air Force was absorbed by the Central Government and my grandfather was order to Hangchow to become a flight instructor for the Sixth Class. General Fu Szeto (司徒 福)was a student in the Sixth Class and they remained life long friends until the generals death in 1992.
