Capalaba and Cleveland parks will benefit from significant upgrades thanks to two Council-State Government partnerships. Thanks to an extra $66,000 funding from the State, we can continue our park works on the corner of Redland Bay Road and Moreton Bay Road in Capalaba. Last month we added five eight metre tall Norfolk Pines. Now well be able to provide a safe pedestrian pathway and crossing over the stormwater channel, increase seating and introduce vibrant features to enhance the entry point to Capalaba and the Redlands. Council will contribute $99,000 to this extra work. Local Government Minister David Crisafulli and State Member for Capalaba Steve Davies visited the site, reviewed plans with Redland City Council Landscape Architect Ross Barnett and discussed progress with Council construction workers this morning. Council will also contribute $300,000 to upgrading Bloomfield Street Park in Cleveland, with the State Government chipping in an extra $200,000. Mayor Karen Williams wants input from the widen community, as well as local traders, as the park is right in the middle of the Cleveland CBD. Well be advertising associated engagement opportunities, once known.
