Capitalism, Fascism, Socialism, Communism... are NOT merely - TopicsExpress

Capitalism, Fascism, Socialism, Communism... are NOT merely philosophical or socio-political theories or ideologies which people like Aristotle or Rand sit around and contemplate. They are real life Economic models which folks like Jefferson and Lenin put into reality. And each of those economic models addresses the question of - Who will own/control the Capital (viewed as industry or property). Under Capitalism - the citizenry is free to pursue, own, and (to a very large degree) control the Capital of the State. Key industry and non-critical industry is owned by the citizenry and largely controlled by the citizenry. The State is only minimally engaged. Even the machinery of the military is fabricated by privately owned business. Under Fascism - key industries are still largely owned by the citizenry - but are mutually controlled by the State. Non-critical industry is owned and controlled by the citizenry. Under Socialism - key industries are owned and controlled by the State. While non-critical industry is owned by citizens but controlled by the State. Under Communism - both key industry and non-critical industry are owned and controlled by the State. The private citizenry has no ownership nor control. In fact, there is no private citizenry; as they too are considered the Capital of the State. Now, a question was asked: I am asking how a government mandate to get health insurance is socialism? The government is running neither the insurance industry or the health care industry, so it cannot be socialism. And even if it were, socialism isnt necessarily a bad thing--we have it all throughout our society and it works really well (I.e.: the military). To which I have answered: A government mandate to get health insurance is not necessarily socialism. It is merely an enactment/requirement of Law. And that is perfectly Constitutional. (Though with heavy regulation of the insurance industry it does approach Fascism). Just as requiring car insurance is not Socialism per se because the State does not own the insurance companies. However... what makes Obamacare socialism and non-constitutional is because it transitions the healthcare industry (a key industry) to become largely owned and controlled by the State (Please See: Obamacare Exchanges and Medicare. And the very, very tight regulatory control of what little remains of the privately owned insurance industry). It forces the citizenry to feed from a trough owned and controlled by the State. THAT is what makes Obamacare - Socialism. And THAT is directly opposed to both the spirit, and the reality, of the private freedom of the citizenry which the Founders implemented. Therefore - UNconstitutional. And sure enough - it isnt working beneficially to the citizens. And in time, it will prove to be non-beneficial to the State as well. Yet predictably, the Marxist such as those of the L.A. Times (and some in the Congress) are already beating the drums for their Pro-Statist/Anti-Citizenry fix: The idea of Single-Payer.
