Captain Jack had the pleasure of fishing with Eva and Curt Chapman - TopicsExpress

Captain Jack had the pleasure of fishing with Eva and Curt Chapman today. The weather conditions were perfect, water clarity was great, and the tide was perfect as well. Even with these great conditions todays’ day of fishing was very hard. They ended up bringing in 52 trout today. Jack says they missed as many as they caught and they could have easily had a limit. He said he would catch 10-15 then they would just stop biting. Anglers whom fished out of Sweetwater today did not manage to bring their full limit in either. Some days are better than others. All trout were caught on the outside today using Storm minnows and Artificial baits. Jack and his gang did manage to catch some on the inside, but they were all throwbacks today. It’s crazy even with perfect conditions for fishing you will still run across those bad days. Today seemed to be one of those days for Jack. Maybe on tomorrow’s trip they will have better luck. We’ve gotten reports of trout being caught in Four Horse Lake, Little Lake, Bayou Lery, Lake Lery, and even 40 yards from Sweetwater’s dock. The fishing in Delacroix has really turned on. October is one of the best months to fish. This weekend the weather is looking good. If you have the itch come on down to Delacroix here at Sweetwater! As for the shrimp, we do not have any right now. All we have are the storm minnows. Bait guy says he is hoping to have us a shipment in for the weekend or either beginning of next week. I would call the lodge or Jack’s cell phone for a daily shrimp report. You can always pick them up from Gulf Outlet Marina on Paris Road or at Bait Inc. Other option is Serigne’s. I would suggest you launch there as well if you plan on buying your shrimp there. We have 2 boat storages available. It’s 200 a month and includes unlimited boat launches. There is electricity through the storage and water as well. Lodging for the weekends of October is booked up so only chance you would have now to enjoy a stay with us would be during the week. But hey that’s even better, you would not have to battle all the boats this weekend dumping your boat in a timely manner and getting out there on the water. There a few days left of charter as well call the lodge for dates and booking. In order to reserve your spots we are taking deposits from everybody. No matter whom you are. NO DEPOSIT NO RESERVATION!!!
