Carbohydrate Cycling is one of the most popular diet styles out there for losing fat and building lean muscle mass, Although it needs to be done correctly. By stimulating a low carb phase from restricting energy though carbohydrate intake there needs to be a load phase where you increase carbohydrate intake on a particular day or time period depending on how low your intake has been and how long the duration has been will determine deciding factors on consumption needed to achieve optimal results these can often be called cheat meals. Although I dont like to use the term cheat meals indicating that you are actually cheating on your nutrition which in fact you are not. Depending on how lean and muscular you are will dictate how many carbohydrates should be consumed and what sort of carbohydrates should be consumed during you low carbohydrate phase and your high carbohydrate phase. For new clients to nutrition I prefer not to write meal plans or use any sort of fat loss management meal plan. I prefer to educate them on a healthier way to live and incorporate healthy choice options for food with no outline on intake of calories or macro control. This will ultimately give them success mentally towards food and also physically on how they perceive food. Once a new client understands that a diet is not a way of life and eating for health is, they can then fully understand the importance of the system. For advanced clients or trainees that have been using my services for a while and are educated on a healthy way of life and eating to appetite and choosing foods for health rather than fat loss it is a lot simpler for them to follow a meal plan to advance there individual goals. This is a sample plan that has been given as a option for a high carb day for one of my advanced clients. This person is male and 11% body fat works a physical job and trains 4/5 times per week advanced strength training hypertrophy protocols. This option was to be consumed every 5th day on a non training day.
