Career opportunity for Hygiene & Safety Systems Company GENERAL MANAGER For a leading Hygiene & Safety Systems company that deals with importation and retail of Cleaning Equipment and materials for commercial, industrial and domestic use. The products include Cleaning Care Range of Products, Health and Safety and Personal Protective Equipment, Housekeeping products and Washroom products. The clients include Hotels, Hospitals, Schools and Tertiary Institutions, Cleaning and Allied support solutions companies. (i) Primary Responsibility Reporting to the Group Chief executive Officer the primary responsibility of the General Manager will be to provide strategic leadership and effectively manage the operations of the company’ in order to ensure that set performance goals and profitability targets are realized, product quality and service standards met. In addition, the GM will be expected to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships to ensure operating and revenue targets (ii) Key Responsibilities a) Leadership and Strategic Planning Develop a dynamic and execute business strategy that is able to deliver sustained growth in respect to both turnover and profitability as envisioned in the strategic plan. Develop the company budget seek approval of the Board, implement and continuously monitor the same. Manage the company operations through working with the stakeholders and employees in order to deliver value to clients and enable the company to maximize its revenue and market share. b) Business Development and Client Relationship Conduct market intelligence, in order to develop in-depth market understanding and as an input to product development for the company to attain a competitive edge Identify and execute potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities. Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations. In liaison with the business development team, ensure product range and quality as well as service standards, are used as competing factors thereby positioning the company in the market Build and maintain strong business relationships with clients and regularly monitor their needs as well as those of the market to identify and exploit growth opportunities. c) Human Resources Management Plan for the manpower requirements, recruitment of requisite employees, ensure they have the requisite capacity, motivating and managing the employees in compliance to the Company policies for enhanced productivity. d) Financial Management Ensure effective and efficient management of company resources including finances, assets etc. Set, manage and monitor the operational budget in consultation with the Group CEO. e) Procurement systems In liaison with the Group Head of Procurement, develop and implement sound procurement systems that ensure transparency and competitive procurement of quality goods. (iii) Requirements · Academic & Professional Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized institution and a master’s degree in any related field will be an added advantage. Skills The ideal candidate must have excellent Interpersonal skills, Good verbal and written communication skills. In addition, he/she must demonstrate proven good leadership skills and business growth abilities, proven negotiating skills and Proficiency in Ms Office. Work Experience A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience two of which should be in a senior position and preferably a person who has worked in a related field, or in a supply chain of hygiene and safety equipments and items which will be an added advantage.
