Caribbean Cinemas has formally filed its application for a Cinemas licence after its’ newest multiplex cinema, Caribbean Cinemas10 was closed by police and fire officers for not being in possession of a cinema licence. The ultra-modern cinema complex which features ten auditoriums and stadium-style seating for 1,000, giant screens-four with 3D technology, 100 per cent digital projection-an arcade game room, two party rooms, concessions and deli café, is located at Tarouba Link Road, San Fernando and was opened on Tuesday night. However, the cinema complex was shut down by a team of police and fire officers on Thursday because it was not in possession of a cinema licence. But in an emailed response regarding the status of the licence, Caribbean Cinemas Sales and Marketing Coordinator (Eastern Caribbean Region and Aruba), Noelia Alsina, stated that the company had “filed the application for the Cinemas Licence along with the pertinent Government Agency Certificates.” “We are working directly with the Authorities to have a quick resolution of the matter in order for the theatre to be operating again,’ she stated, adding, “I am pleased to report that we had very favourable reviews of the facility from customers who attended opening day.”
