Carl Hurley tells us to find the humor in daily life situations. Saturday evening I brought Raye home from the hospital after knee replacement surgery. They sent this CPM(?) knee flexing machine home with us and she is supposed to lay in bed with her leg in the thing for six hrs. per day. It dawned on me that she would have to have a bed by herself to accommodate the machine. This meant she would have to be in a bedroom by herself. We talked about what would happen in the wee hrs. if she should need help, how would I hear her e.t.c. I thought about maybe walkie-talkies, a whistle or bell but with the stores closed none of these things were available. Then it hit me. My Grandson had bought me a genuine Larry the Cable Guy fart machine for my birthday a few years ago and I dug it out of my desk drawer, put the business end in the room in which I was to sleep and gave her the remote. Worked perfectly. Problem was, about 2:AM the first night, I heard this PARRUUMMPPH!, sailed out of bed, went to her room and found her peacefully sound asleep. Ill say nothing further about this and leave it to your imagination to figure out what had happened. You gotta find the humor in daily life situations.
