Carmel Mission..uh I have a few things to say. That when we had visited the mission we sat and listed to a video that told when father Serra built the mission...that the indians were happy people. Well we just heard lie after lie being told on this video. That 4000 natives were burried at this site..well we wanted to know where they were all burried because certainly there were enough graves in that cemetery. .we asked a guide there where they were all these relatives and were informed that the bodies are stacked one upon another beneath the church. .now we all know that our relatives were persecuted for being who they are and forced to convert to Christianity. I felt my relatives call from beyond the grave..as Valerie and I made our way to the cemetery there was may be 40 mounds some with just a lil broken wooden cross with a abalone shell hanging..we took no pics of this..wasnt right. Some mounds outlined wtth the shells but ywt again no names. Amd the only reason there was even some kind marking was in the 80s the local tribe tried to acknowledge the ancestors. . Val and I stood silent n she cried to me...not one Michelle not even one name..I said I know..we cried we hurt we were frozen cold..a little sign said in dedication to the Christian Indians..well hell that pissed me off even more!! The church damn well knows the names of the 4000 relatives buried there we know they keep records of such things they did especially converting Natives and changing their names as to change their identity !!! Some how this can be changed and some how the lies have to end..truth be told by the light that we are..missions were built by the blood of our relatives!! Forced to become a product other than being a free pwople.. yes I am on a roll and voices are not silent we must answer the call of our relatives who still speak from beyond be a Native Voice be a beam of light for the world to see !!!
