Carol M Haggerty, Mary-beth Hogarth Boughton wish it were a bit better! Last Sunday my parents went for the BOGO in the stroke department. Dads stroke seems to have left little to no damage, but while he was in the hospital they discovered very low heart rate so yesterday he had a pacemaker put in. Things for him are looking very good and we hope he will go home today and pick up just were he left off., Mom is a different story. She was in ICU a few days then the regular neuroscience floor and as of yesterday she is in the Braintree Rehab Hospital. Not sure how much will come back. Her brain does not acknowlegde left side vision. She has awful short term memory and is very confused. Not certain what her future holds as far as were she will be living and how much independence she will have. It has been a long week; but with 2 very involved, strong and over the top helpful siblings that are local we are able to be there helping. Havent had to call in the out of the area siblings yet..hopefully we wont need to. So seriously.....enjoy every second of the worst minute of normal that you have! UGH
