Carol Reitan (Oct. 25, 1930 - May 12, 2014) holds a place in history as the only woman to ever serve as Mayor of Normal, but her longtime community leadership and influence extends well beyond the town hall. Her legacy lives on in the many organizations she helped guide or found, including the Collaborative Solutions Institute, Inc., Heartland Theatre Company, Habitat for Humanity of McLean County, Illinois Prairie Community Foundation and Neville House, a shelter for domestic violence victims.
