Carol Ryder Please promote NY PAW-New Yorkers Protecting Animal Welfares FB website. We have a lot of key legislation coming up, incl for the first Animal Abuser Registry in the country and a model since unlike every other proposal I have seen, it includes misdemeanors, not just felonies. The laws, and enforcement, suck so it is hard to get felony convictions. They found 23 bait dogs with jaws and teeth missing, and Erdman, Shirley 23 perp, got an ACOD with one misd!!!!! We are also working on projects to have real police enforce the abuse laws, not NP SPCAs. In recent days, the horrorsa of this have come to light, more and more. We also just got the Puppy Mill bill signed and now are working on legislation; the promoter of Suffolk Countys ban on sales of puppies and kittens in pet stores, plus tight regulation, a Legislature head who reached term limits, is well-known for laws that spread across the country, and we are carrying on (and he is behind the scenes-wonderful man-loves underdogs, esp animals) . There is so much more coming up that can affect animals everywhere that we are working on, so please keep an eye out.
