Carol, this is an excellent post. We are clearly warned in Scripture to beware of evil men coming into our assemblies with false doctrine and ideas from demonic sources. Ill back up to a foundational doctrine of scriptural authority in the local assembly. That authority must be a group of Elders that are filled with the Holy Spirit and are able to teach the Word of God. It SHOULD NEVER BE A ONE MAN SHOW, AT LEAST NOT FOR VERY LONG UNTIL A GROUP OF QUALIFIED ELDERS CAN BE ASSEMBLED. Today there is little accountability among many leaders, they surround themselves with yes people many times. I learned this the hard way myself. If your local assembly is run by a board made up of women and men or is a 501c3 Church, all I can say is you better start praying really hard and seek God and his leadership with all you have. Do you Obey and submit to the Word of God or just say you do?
