Carson update - Tuesday,August 19, 2014. Today was a pretty good day. Overall, Nikki thought it was his best day so far. He was in a good mood, he cooperated with OT, PT and Speech Therapist, without whining or complaining. He rode a bicycle at part of his PT, and he enjoyed that. He is sleeping through the night. He is getting stronger, moving better and communicating better. He was using head movements to indicate yes/no frequently instead using a thumbs up or closed fist to indicate yes/no. He spoke once today in response to a question where his mom asked what or who is that and he answered Sponge Bob. He is eating much better in fact they have placed him on regular food, that is a good sign. Tomorrow he will have his mini surgery, where he will get the chemo port inserted in his upper chest, he will have a spinal tap to collect some spinal fluid to check to see if any cancer cells have entered his spinal fluid, he will have an audiology test, and have blood drawn for a complete blood work up in preparation for the Chemo which begins next week. Thank you for all of your prayers in his and his familys behalf. It should be a tough day tomorrow.
